On August 7th, 2007, in need of an adventure, I rented a car with the intention of driving north until the road ended.
I took my computer, an ink pen, black india ink, a camera, and two pairs of clothes.
I slept in truck stops, behind buildings, and above a bagel shop. I stopped to draw and design whenever possible. At a dockside bar I befriended a captain and his crew who tried to convince me to join them as they embarked back across the Atlantic Ocean.
My travels took me deep into one of the world’s last great frontiers where I finished the majority of the epic sixteen foot Dry Ink Best Of Street Issue.
I picked up hitchhikers for company when I got lonely. We lived like gypsies in the Labrador wilderness with wolves, bears, and moose.
My trip home took me into the North Atlantic and across the Trans-Labrador Highway, a one-lane gravel road with no communications or emergency services. Gas is virtually non-existent and the danger level is extremely high.
Montreal was 1200 miles to the south.
This is the making of the Dry Ink Best Of Street Issue and the story that goes with it.
